The 2006 BSC Holiday
Party
Over 100 Club members and guests attended
the Club’s Holiday Party held at the VFW Hall on Tuesday,
December 5, 2006 sponsored by the Eastern and Western/European Trips
Committees. We also had 30 guests who recently went on the Italy
trip who came to share their photos of the trip. A big thank you
to Christopher Pukalski, who once again made it possible for us
to enjoy a variety of appetizers and foods.
We were honored to have retired Marine Sergeant Ryan Groves come
and speak on behalf of the “Wounded Warrior Project”.
Ryan was injured while serving in Iraq. Club members graciously
stood and applauded him for his service to our great Country. Ryan
stated that he never thought he would be able to ski again, but
with the help of the WWP’s “Learn to Ski-Adaptive Ski
Program”, he achieved his goal.
Our members charitably brought many bags of canned and boxed food
for the food drive to benefit “Victor’s Vittles, an
area food pantry in Baltimore.
Thanks to Marlene Ossie, Sharon Albaugh, and Mary Rose Cook for
selling door prize tickets and 50/50 raffle ticket drawings. There
were 22 door prizes, which included ski goggles, tuning kits, lift
tickets to Whitetail, Roundtop, and Timberline and lots of other
prizes. The winner of the 50/50 raffle was Vernon Schoff who won
$68 to spend on holiday shopping.
