Our meetings will continue at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church at 1108 Providence Rd. Towson MD. each month but at a different time. We will now be having our meetings on the first Wednesday of the month. Doors will open at 7:00 PM and meetings will start at 7:30.
Our guest speaker will be Will Holman, General Manager of Open Works and co-founder of the Industrial Arts Collective.
Open Works is a "Makerspace" where creators, makers, and dreamers can bring business and creative ideas to life. It's a place to work on projects with access to state-of-the-art equipment like 3D printers, laser cutters, milling devices, and to share interests and knowledge in technology.
Do you want to be the next Howard Head or Jake Burton?
Howard Head was the inventor of the first aluminum laminate skis, a revolutionary design that changed skiing. Jake Burton is the founder of Burton Snowboards and inventor of the modern day snowboard.
Will is also the author of Guerilla Furniture Design. His design work is documented on Instructables, Bmore Art, Design Observer, Places Journal, and Make: Magazine.
