Jay Peak, VT
March 4 - March 9, 2012
Whether or not you want glade skiing you'll enjoy the 360 degree views from the top of Vermont's only cable car (aerial tram). There are trails for all abilities back down with 20% of the mountain designed for beginners and 40% for intermediates. Apart from the glade skiing, experts have Jay's 'State Side' area with half a dozen steep trails.

Jay has about 750 beds slope-side in the Hotel Jay and Jay Peak condos. A wide variety of other accommodation is available in the area. There are five eateries on and around the mountain and a day care facility taking kids from age 2. The resort is 64 miles from Burlington and 70 miles from Montreal. Jay Peak prides itself on getting much more natural snow each season than its neighbors. Its 20-year average for natural snowfall is 379 inches. Another claim to fame is the areas gladded trails. Some of the most interesting glades are Staircase, Valhalla (the steepest on the mountain), the natural half pipe in Canyon land and, the most challenging on the mountain, the Jay Peak Face Chutes. Regardless of your terrain of choice, the 360 degree views from the summit are staggering. Twenty percent of the mountain is designed for beginners and 40% for intermediates while, in addition to the glades; experts enjoy Jays State Side area with half a dozen steep trails. Jay has approximately 850 - 900 beds, which include the Hotel Jay, 2 Bedroom slope-side condos, and 4 Bedroom slopeside townhouses. The resort is 64 miles from Burlington and 70 miles from Montreal.
