Okemo, Stratton, VT &
Mt. Sunapee, NH

January 15 - January 19, 2012

Located in the Black River Valley of central Vermont, Okemo Mountain Resort has been transformed from a small local ski area in the early 1980's into one of the north-east's leading resorts. Unlike much of the competition in the rapidly consolidating ski industry, Okemo is independently owned by Tim and Diane Mueller. The Mueller's have invested nearly $200 million in facility improvements during the years. On-mountain condominiums, along with privately owned homes, are a big part of the landscape at Okemo and provide the ultimate in ski-in/ski-out convenience. Okemos’s slope-side condominiums range from 1 to 5 bedrooms and offer all the amenities of home.

Tucked beautifully into the base of Okemo's Jackson Gore Peak, The Jackson Gore Inn is Okemo's newest ski-in/ski-out accommodations. The Inn combines the warmth and allure of the Vermont countryside with the ambiance of a fine hotel. The room's range in size from artfully appointed guestrooms accommodating four people, up to opulent 3-bedroom suites equipped to comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests. The Jackson Gore base area features its own unique collection of restaurants and shops, as well as a dedicated high-speed quad lift, a 400-foot carpet lift, a Learning Center desk, Equipment Rental Center, Snow Sports Shop as well as parking areas. On the slopes, Okemo's snowmaking and grooming teams are recognized nationally for overall snow quality and consistency. The mountain is a perfect choice for snowboarders and freestyle skiers, as it features two super pipes and five terrain parks. Okemo's has over 610 skiable acres with 95% covered by snowmaking.

Directly below Okemo Mountain, the village of Ludlow offers a fine blend of shops, restaurants and attractions. Ludlow offers many outdoor winter activities including ice-skating, sleigh rides, and snowmobiling

Owned by Intrawest, Stratton is the epitome of a full-service ski resort. Stratton installed the first high-speed six-seat detachable chair in 1995 and it offers a profusion of fun-packed activities and events for everyone in the family including nordic skiing, ice skating, sleigh rides and a Sports Center with pool. In addition, the slopeside village is lined with an eclectic mix of shops and restaurants that will entice you. Stratton is committed to superior snowmaking and grooming but there is plenty of raw terrain as well. Terrain gardens, carving parks, over 70 acres of glades, bumps, playgrounds and various hits are scattered across the resort. Just a short drive away, scenic Manchester offers different kinds of attractions. From Armani and Ralph Lauren to Timberland and Brooks Brothers, there are over 70 designer outlets plus an abundance of fine dining options.

Owned by the state of New Hampshire but leased by Okemo Mountain (VT) since 1998, Mount Sunapee is a classic New Hampshire resort -- both wide and narrow trails, beautiful views and relatively uncrowded. Mount Sunapee offers skiing & riding for all abilities. The South Peak beginner area is separated from the main mountain and offers the perfect learning environment. Mount Sunapee is a great intermediate area but also provides terrain for the expert skier/rider. With a combination of tabletops, hips, rails, fun-boxes, rollers and a new 650-foot Super Pipe on two different trails, Mount Sunapee's terrain park is set up for the interests of every skier and snowboarder. Mount Sunapee Resort has earned the reputation as one of New England's top family resorts by providing a wide variety of innovative programs, incentives and special rates that make planning a family getaway easier than ever. Mount Sunapee's layout and trail network is family friendly all trails lead to one central base area. Families can ski and ride together from virtually any lift or go their separate ways to explore varied terrain. With Mount Sunapee's close proximity to major metropolitan areas, it provides the perfect opportunity for a quick one-day getaway.
